Today, Heart of a Champion’s Saturday Salute is the ‘God Father’ of Atlantic Motorsports Park, Jack Canfield! Jack’s passion for racing started at a very early age, encompassing many different forms of motorsport’s including rally, sports cars, stocks, and bikes! Jack was instrumental in the creation of AMP in 1974 which paved the way for sanctioning bodies, like NASCAR, to host races at the 2.5 km road course in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. Jack was inducted to the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame and a friend to all! Jack left us way too early, however, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to all motorsport’s which continues to be the guiding light at AMP.
