Today, Heart of a Champion’s ‘Saturday Salute’ is Prince Edward Island’s, Kevin MacKay! Kevin started racing in the mid-80s and could easily be considered ‘Mr. Mini Stock’ after winning 3 Championships and dozens of features! Kevin won 26 races in 1987 and 13 of those consecutively. That would be attributed to his desire to win and impeccably prepared mini stock! After retiring from driving, Kevin became the promoter of Raceway Park and helped guide the track for many years, to the appreciation of the thousands of fans who enjoyed Saturday night racing on the Island! Kevin’s love of motorsports and cars started early in life with running the Car Life Museum in Bonshaw, which his father started decades ago. Kevin was also inducted into the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame. 🙂 Kevin, thank you for all the years of dedication, you have the Heart of a Champion! 🙂 Photos: MMHOF
