Today, Heart of a Champion proudly recognizes New Brunswick hard-charger, Ken Mackenzie Sr., as this week’s Saturday Salute’ recipient! ๐
The name ‘Mackenzie’ has long been associated with the winner’s circle throughout the New Brunswick’s bull-rings! ๐ Ken Sr. or ‘Kenzie’ has been tearing up the New Brunswick stock car scene for decades. ๐
Ken was the 1987 Dukes champion at Riverglade Speedway and a 4-time Sportsman champion at Riverglade Speedway, taking home the title in 1995, 1998, 2001 & 2002. Ken took his winning ways to Fredericton’s Speedway 660 by winning the Sportsman championship there in 2010 and 2011! ๐
A true gentleman, Ken is always willing to lend a hand to any competitor, on and off the track. ๐ The successful growth of stock car racing in New Brunswick, over the past few decades, has been built on the back’s of people just like Ken Mackenzie Sr. and his passion for the sport ๐ Ken’s son now carries the torch proudly and has become a winning driver in this own right. ๐ Ken, for all the years of dedication to Maritime motorsports, you have the Heart of a Champion! ๐ Photos: Mike Francis, Mackenzie Family Archive
