Today, Heart of a Champion’s Saturday Salute is Port Mouton, Nova Scotia’s Junior Hanley! Edward ‘Junior’ Hanley is Canada’s foremost racing legend! Junior started his career drag racing, however, quickly moving to stock car racing in the mid-60s. Jr. was best known for driving the ‘Hound’ to dozens of feature wins around the Maritime’s before making the move to Ontario in the early 70s! Jr. has hundreds of feature wins and dozens of championships, to his credit, in a career that has spanned 60 years! Jr.’s won all the BIG races; Riverside 250, Oxford 250, The International, Copper World Classic and the World Series to name just a few! Jr. not only drove his own ‘rockets’ to victory lane but build many for drivers like Darrell Waltrip, Mark Martin, and Alan Kulwicki!
