oday, Heart of a Champion proudly Salutes Shane Scott, as this week’s ‘Saturday Salute’! Shane Scott, from Moncton New Brunswick, will be inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame this year. The first rider from New Brunswick to be inducted! His racing career spans over forty years, from his start in motocross in 1977 to today, and he isn’t slowing down! Last year he raced over sixty main events in national dirt track events across Canada and the USA. Where most racers specialize in just one discipline, Scott has impressed on the national and international scene in almost every type of motorcycle racing; motocross, supermoto, dirt track, ice racing, rally, desert, land speed records, road racing, and hill climb! Having over two dozen regional, national and international championships, Scott’s most impressive accomplishment was his podium finish in the Pro Heavyweight class at the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb! Other notable races were his 2017 Baja 1000 finish, 2019 Daytona dirt track win, and his 2019 AMA Grand Championship dirt track win! In 2006 Scott was the first motorcycle racer inducted into the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame. In 2011 he was inducted into the Moncton Sports Wall of Fame. Shane Scott, for the years of dedication to Maritime Motorsports, you have the Heart of a Champion! Photos: Scott Family Archive
