Today, Heart of a Champion’s ‘Saturday Salute’ is Maritime drag racing legend, Greg Nickerson. This week, Greg lost his battle with cancer but we are comforted to know that he’s now pulling into the staging lanes with other drag racing legends who’ve gone before us. Greg was a proud member of the Cluster Busters car club in the 60s and was born to run fast down the quarter-mile! Greg was a friend to all and you always felt better after spending any amount of time around Greg. Role model, Dad, husband, brother, Hall of Famer… Greg had many titles but he was so humble that to be called ‘friend’ made him happy. Greg’s passion for family and racing ran deep. We will deeply miss you, friend, and your legacy will live on through memories shared amongst your Maritime racing family. You raced and lived with the Heart of a Champion.
