Today, Heart of a Champion’s ‘Saturday Salute’ is Maritime Classic Car & Truck Ambassador, Doug Fulmore!

Born into a ‘General Motors Family’, the Fulmore name is synonymous with Maritime classic car restoration, and specifically, anything on four wheels with a Bowtie! Doug’s love of cars started at a very young age, a love that was passed down from his father, ‘The God Father of Nova Scotia Classic Chevy’s’, Burt Fulmore! ????

Doug’s automotive career started in the late 70s at Bob McDonald Chev in Halifax as a wash-bay attendant, and he’s now well into his 4th decade in the car business! Doug’s held many positions including Fleet Manager, Leasing Manager, Credit Manager, Sales Manager, and his current position as Retail Used Car Coordinator with Eastern Canada’s largest auto group, Steele Auto.

Throughout his career, Doug’s keen eye for detail has led him to become an industry leader in appraising Classic and Antique cars. ????

Along with his Dad and their 1937 GMC, Doug joined the Halifax Antique Car Club in the 70s. Conservatively, Doug has attended and/or participated in well over 500 car shows and classic car events! Currently, as the Vice President of the Classic Chevy Club of NS and in-resident annual fundraiser auctioneer, Doug can be seen throughout the summer months driving his beautifully restored 1973 Camaro from event to event! ???? His Camaro was a family restoration project in 2007 with his brother Mike helping to lead the charge! ????

A devoted race fan, Doug is a long-time supporter of Maritime motorsports, particularly stock car and drag racing. ????

For Doug, the only love greater than his love of Classic cars & trucks is his love of family. His wife Tammy is along for the ride to every classic car event and shares Doug’s lifelong passion for Maritime Classic Cars. ???? Doug and Tammy’s boys, Mark & Brett are also carrying on the family ‘Bowtie’ tradition! As a proud Grampy, Doug loves to share his passion for Classics with the grandkids! ????
