Today, Heart of a Champions ‘Saturday Salute’ is Dieppe, New Brunswick’s, Don Lavoie! Don’s love of the quarter-mile started very early in life. At the age of 15, Don had already bought his first car and was doing some street racing and the legend of ‘Mr. In Between’ was born! 🙂 Don has been an ambassador, racer, and promoter of Maritime drag racing for over 40 years! He’s owned over 14 cars, including funny cars, a super street Camaro and a wheel standing truck. Don’s been inducted into the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame and the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame. 🙂 Don’s success on-track has been supported, through the years, by his wife Rose and daughters and now grandchildren! 🙂 Don, for all you have done to help foster the growth of Maritime drag racing, you have the Heart of a Champion. 🙂 Photos: MMHOF
