Today’s Heart of a Champion ‘Saturday Salute’ is Skip Collier! Skip started drag racing in the early 60s at Maitland Dragway, where he was the points champ with his 1959 MG. Skip was also instrumental in elevating the awareness of Drag City in the early 70s by not only competing there but also an advisor to the owner, Doug Lively. 🙂 Skip’s love of cars knew no boundaries as he was an ISCA Car Show Judge for several years and also the Head Judge for the Intruders Car Club of Halifax. 🙂 Skip was the co-founder of the Classic Chevy Club of Nova Scotia and its first President. Every form of Motorsports needs a ‘Skip Collier’; that individual who works tirelessly to help promote and advance the sport purely for the love of it. 🙂 Skip’s family was also part of promoting racing, in the early years, by their pioneering efforts with providing t-shirts of your favourite driver at local race tracks. Skip we miss seeing you at car shows and race tracks but you’ll never be forgotten. 🙂 You have the Heart of a Champion.
